Description

Description

State-of-the-Arts Gallery is showing our support for the recent natural disasters in Japan with an exhibition by Japanese artist Frankie Cihi. 10% of all sales will be donated to Save The Children Japan to help the relief effort. This exhibition will take place from 16th May – 12th June 2011.
No-one will have failed to have heard about the devastating events that unfolded recently in Japan. The earthquake and tsunami caused a terrible loss of life, homes and livelihood. We at State-of-the-Arts Gallery would like to do all we can to help with the relief process. With this in mind, we are having an exhibition by Japanese artist Frankie Cihi that does not focus on what has happened, but on the promise of recovery of Japan. The exhibition, “Art that Blossoms,” represents the rebirth of this beautiful country that, like the cherry blossom that it is so famous for, will blossom again.
Frankie was born in Japan and obtained a BFA from the School of Visual arts in New York. Before this she was also educated in Florence, Italy. This means that her influences come from far and wide, giving a truly unique quality to her work. Freshly graduated, Frankie has already been invited by galleries in New York and Tokyo to hold solo exhibitions. Frankie’s paintings burst with colour and form, with abstract flowers that seem to float onto the canvas. Each work is light and playful, reflecting beauty, life and hope.
There will also be an opportunity to donate to this worthy cause, anyone who donates 500HKD or more will be given a small print of Frankie’s work with a framed box (20 x 20 cm). Thank you for your support.
