Glocalization of Asian Culture

Description

Description

State-of-the-Arts Foundation is proud to be a supporter of local talents and help them reach out internationally. In November, we are collaborating with the Federation of Asian Artists (FAA) (Hong Kong Committee) to host an exhibition titled ‘Glocalization of Asian Culture’ at our Central gallery space. This group exhibition will showcase works of 14 reputed local artists and run from 7 – 23 November, 2011.
Together we celebrat…e the 15th anniversary of the FAA – Hong Kong Committee in 2011. After participating in the 26th Asian International Art Exhibition held in Seoul, Korea, FAA is holding a return exhibition in Hong Kong to share with the local public their interpretation of glocalization. The artists feel that globalization eliminates borders and creates opportunities, while it also celebrates unique cultural heritage; it is vital that Asian artists work hand in hand to enhance communication and partnership among different regions in order to promote contemporary art, and this is the reason behind the founding of FAA and our Foundation. The pieces exhibited display an array of style while complimenting each other. These local artists develop their pieces basing on their Chinese cultural heritage, yet each incorporating what they have seen and experienced in today’s globalized world in their work – a true mixture of history and innovation.
