Performances in Interpretation of Classical Chinese Literature through Drama II will be based on three of the 12 designated classical Chinese essays for the new Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) Curriculum, namely On Benevolence, Filial Piety, and Gentlemen (《論仁、論孝、論君子》); The Trip and Picnic in Xishan (《始得西山宴遊記》) and On the Six States (《六國論》). Complemented by contemporary, minimalist stage treatment, the classical Chinese texts are vividly and stereoscopically presented on stage. As students are exposed to theatrical art, teachers can also use the drama as a focal point for classroom instruction.
