Japanese mime maestro Kiyoshi Shimizu who has been acclaimed as “the poet of space”, adopted the traditional use of masks – “kamen” to tell the story about the absurdity of life. Giving examples of the day-to-day activity, our anxiety, anger, happiness and sadness are revealed in the performance.
Kamen is one of Shimizu’s best known mime works. Since its debut in 1983, the intriguing mime act ha been performed more than 40 times around the world, receiving international acclaim. The six-act mime play is accompanied by live music performed by veteran flutist Yoshimi Ueno, enhancing their stage presence with a charisma and charm that captivates audiences.
