2015 Joints Concerts of Music Office Bands And Orchestras (Junior Groups)

Description

More than 900 young musicians from 14 bands and orchestras will perform an array of Chinese and Western pieces at four joint concerts to be presented by the Music Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department in April and May.

The first concert, which will showcase junior groups, will feature the Hong Kong Junior Chamber Ensemble, the Music Office Junior Chinese Orchestra and the Hong Kong Children’s Symphonic Band, and will be held at 3pm on April 12 (Sunday) at the Auditorium of Kwai Tsing Theatre. Under the batons of conductors Maxine Cheung, Dr Joseph Kam, Eddy Tse, Tsui Ying-fai, Cheung Hiu-fai, Janice Ho and Palas Chan, the musicians will play a variety of Chinese and Western music including Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus”, Lo Leung-fai’s “Spring” and John Powell’s animation tune “How to Train Your Dragon” arranged by Sean O’Loughlin.
