The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present three multifaceted performances by the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) and the Sydney Dance Company (SDC) in November, encompassing dance fusion and live music, a concert by the ACO’s electro-acoustic ensemble, and an exhibition featuring a “virtual” orchestra.
“ACO Virtual” will be installed from November 11 to 14 (Wednesday to Saturday) at the Black Box Theatre of Kwai Tsing Theatre. Built using state-of-the-art technology, “ACO Virtual” features the projections of 13 musicians from the ACO surrounding the participants. Visitors may bring their instruments and play along with this virtual orchestra to immerse themselves in performances by Bach, Grieg, Smalley and Piazzolla or take helm of the ACO via a tablet controller inside the installation. Each virtual journey lasts 30 minutes. Admission is free.
