From 2001, vA! has organised the Art Specialist Course for those who are eager to devote themselves into the world of art with an aim to nurture local artists and art audience. Students can make use of the well-equipped studios, receive professional training and take practice which could help them to develop their own personal portfolio.
Since April last year, instructors of the Art Specialist Course 2016-17 have guided the young artists through a memorable learning journey. Head by Leung Kui-ting, the Ink Painting module covers topics from history to philosophy of Chinese ink painting that fortified young artists’ spiritual and philosophical understanding on the medium. Priscilla Chan, Jakie Leung, Sara Tse, Florence Yim and other instructors of Ceramics Courses gave visionary guidance on difference processes in creating ceramics.
The fruitful outcomes of the 10-month intensive training, which showed a diversity of expressions and new visions from the 24 young artists, are presented in the graduation exhibition.
