Awakening Spring: An Exhibition of Significant Works By Wu Guanzhong

Description

Description

This autumn, coinciding with the October auctions in Hong Kong, Sotheby’s will present “Awakening Spring: An Exhibition of Significant Works by Wu Guanzhong”, an extraordinary collection of Wu Guanzhong ink paintings. The forty museum-quality works, to be exhibited in celebration of Sotheby’s 40 years in Asia, belong to a private single owner, The Low Gallery, which features the most important assemblage of Wu Guanzhong ink paintings in private hands. Together, this special anthology showcases a remarkable survey of Wu Guanzhong’s most significant and defining works created during the height of the artist’s career, notably An Old Town of the Jiaohe, 1981, and Wisteria, 1990.
