In 2009, Chung Ying, LCSD, the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council, and the Hong Kong Society for the Aged co-operated to arrange in Sham Shui Po district a pilot project titled Community Oral History Theatre Project: Sham Shui Po District. 26 senior citizen students were recruited and provided with theatrical training. Their experiences in Sham Shui Po, including the massive fire in the Shek Kip Mei squatter area, the startup of public housing program, 1956 riots and industrial development was collected and complied into Savouring the Fragrance of Sham Shui Po, which was performed by the elderly actors
