Coppélia 2011
Dance

Description
Description
Originally created in 1870 for the Paris Opera by Arthur Saint-Léon, Coppélia has long been popular with all the family, and the charming story and expressive style make it the ideal “introduction” to classical ballet. Ronald Hynd’s delightful choreography shows the dancers’ comic and character acting skills, while Léo Delibes’ original blend of classical and folk music styles and famous Italian designer Roberta Guidi di Bagno’s gorgeous set and costumes bring out the charm of this endearing tale. Coppélia is an endearing comedy of errors, full of warmth, charm and laughter. The ballet’s winning combination of expressive dancing, witty comical acting, colourful costumes and bright cheerful music entertain all the family.
