Dancing In The Sun 2014: Cultivation Journey

Description

Description

Drawing on 21 years of experience providing modern dance training, City Contemporary Dance Company has designed a new thematic project especially for the 2013/14 academic year. According to Confucius’s Daxue, one should first cultivate oneself and set one’s family in order before aspiring to govern a state or rule the whole nation. This is the Chinese traditional ideology of getting along with other people. With dance as the medium, this year’s programme aims to promote self cultivation and team spirit, offering an all-round growth experience for participants. Meanwhile, self cultivation may also refer to bodily discipline. Through dance training, it is hoped that the participants can gain a new understanding of their own bodies and their internal beauty, and thereby stimulate their hidden potential.
