Ensemble Transience: Composition & Improvisation – Summer Concert: CHAORDER
Music

Description
Description
“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity”, this applies to music improvisations and experiments with unexpected elements, what we fail to see is that same turbulence often creates the space for the dissonance to take form.
During this second concert of the “Compositions & Improvisations” project, Ensemble Transience as always will be hoping to entice you with the exploration of the compositional and improvisational language of modern jazz and classical music. We attempt to challenge the borders of musical languages and to reveal the dignity of local music.
We will work with our featured artists including Ted Lo, Jan Curious, Mukzi, and Alison Lau whom are active in Jazz, alternative band sound, folk, R&B and traditional Chinese music respectively. Besides that, we would showcase our newly formed Ensemble 13, youth musicians from different genres recruited early this year. The instrumentation of this ensemble is especially interesting, which composed of Erhu, Suona, Harp, Harmonica and many more. They are going to perform a newly commissioned ensemble writing by Ted Lo.
In this late summer, let us dive into the upheaval and conquer the night with music.
