Not A Double Room (Excerpt)
Not A Double Room was premiered in 1995. Y-Space was invited to stage the production in Taipei, Munich, Guangzhou and Beijing. It was based on what Victor Choi-wo MA and Mandy Ming-yin YIM saw while travelling in Europe 22 years ago and inspired by pre-handover Hong Kong. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the handover. How would the rerun enlighten us this time?
CAGE
CAGE is a score open for collaborations wherever Katie is asked to tour, with female performance artists, dancers, musicians and actresses. The performance contains images that provide a theatrical theme by way of a black dress that she physically transforms, a chair, three wigs, text, movements and sound. Her text is non-narrative based on four titles; The institutionalization of Everything, Love, the Anatomy of hte Vagina, Death.
TEST DUO
TEST DUO comes from Xiao Ke and Zihan’s new theatre production. The experimental dance duo greatly simplifies the body language and shows us how a body and its sound expand the meaning of the text.
