Description
Description
Playwright’s Studio aims to seek out, encourage and support emerging playwrights, enabling them to develop creative, original and exhilarating new plays. Scripts are being developed, trialed and most importantly celebrated in this platform. It encourages theatre makers to try out new ideas, new ways of working ad new collaborations. Presented by the Hong Kong Arts Centre in association with The School of Drama, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with renowned playwright Poon Wai-sum; Playwright’s Studio is a space for artists to experiment and explore, providing an opportunity for emerging and established artists to develop ideas collaboratively, experimentally and informally.
The first phase of Playwright’s Studio will have two seasons annually of work-in-progress experimental pieces, readings and shorts, which will be launched in September 2014, followed by May 2015. Audiences are not only spectator but also engaged in the creative process of a new play. Join us in this art adventure and be part of the artistic journey of talented playwrights!
