Description

Description

Performed for more than 30 times in Hong Kong and on tour, the Hong Kong Dance Company’s epic dance spectacle Qingming Riverside made its triumphant presentation for the third time at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre. Lauded as “a stage wonder that arises from a painting masterpiece”, this crown jewel of the Hong Kong dance community is something to be very proud of. Featuring a hundred dancers and creative personnel, the opulent spectacle Qingming Riverside explores traditional Chinese culture through tapping into the rich dance culture of China as the basis of performance. It depicts the lives of Bianjing citizens during the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960-1126) in broad painterly impressions, inviting the audience to travel through time to the dynamic city on the River Bian. This living painting salutes the long and profound history of Chinese culture through contemporary expressions.
