Hailed as a virtuoso, master colourist and a true trailblazer of the guitar, the multi Grammy award-winning Sharon Isbin headlines a programme full of Spanish flavours and Rococo charm.
Her artistry is showcased in Rodrigo’s exquistely beautiful Fantasía para un gentilhombre. She then joins CCOHK’s string principals and Flamenco artist Nina Corti in Boccherini’s Guitar Quintet, famed for its crowning Fandango movement with castanets. Nina Corti thereafter returns to the stage for an invigorating dance realization of Bartok’s gypsy-fuelled Romanian Folk Dances.
CCOHK concludes the evening with a performance of Halffter’s zealous and colourfully orchestrated Sinfonietta led by Andrew Sewell.
