The Legend of Fiery Dragon
Dance

Description
Description
As we know it today, Causeway Bay, or literally ‘Gong Bay’, is always hustling and bustling; yet, it was once a tranquil bay in the shape of gong. As we know it today, Lin Fa Temple is surrounded by heavy traffic; yet, it was once a lonely coastal architecture. As we know it today, Tai Hang is home to numerous luxurious apartments; yet, it was a rustic agricultural village some 100 years ago. As we know it today, Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance is listed on the national list of intangible cultural heritage; yet, it originated from a legendary tale that took place 137 years ago. Our ancestors were ordinary but great people. Their veins were filled with the unflinching courage and perseverance and of the Chinese nation. They dared to pursue their dreams; they understood happiness must be earned with their own hands. They stood bravely in front of adversity; they stepped forward when fierce beasts and disasters hit. They confronted plagues; they spared no effort in identifying life-saving solutions. They embraced victory but never forgot about the legacy passed down the generations with the burning of incense in the temple. The fire-dragon is a symbol of fire. In the blink of an eye, in the shadows of burning fire, our national spirit sublimes. The baptism of fire breaks through every barrier and rises into the air.
