This gem of a chamber music performance brings you some of the most imaginative and original works for strings in the past two decades, with a nod to the past. One of the world’s most celebrated composers Brett Dean connects the dark emotions and internal struggles of Beethoven and Gesualdo with his formidable writing for strings, “Testament” and “Carlo”. Georg Friedrich Haas challenges the nervous system of performers and audience with his String Quartet No. 3, heightening our senses by requesting the work to be performed in total darkness. Designed and staged by renowned concert designer Folkert Uhde from Berlin, whose creative flair promises a sensually refreshing concert experience.
