Description
Have you ever wondered where the yellow rubber duck, your best childhood bathing companion comes from?
100% made in Hong Kong and having swum through almost all bathtubs around the world, this adorable rubber ducky has been the fond memories for generations since its birth 70 years ago.
Locally born and raised, Mr LT Lam witnessed the Japanese invasion in his youth, which impelled him to build a Chinese toy brand to contend with the toy empire at that time. He made the first local yellow rubber duck in 1948, and has earned international reputation for Hong Kong toy industry. Since then, Mr Lam is hailed as the “Father of the Yellow Rubber Duck”. With passion, earnestness and diligence, he started his lifelong journey as the toy tycoon of China…
Written by Chung Ying resident Teaching Artist Michael Ip, and directed by Assistant Artistic Director Edmond Lo, Chung Ying’s The Yellow Rubber Duck is an original production that stages the legendary story of Mr Lam, depicting a deep love for Hong Kong.
