Tropical Light

Description

Description

YY9 Gallery is pleased to present “Tropical Light” – a joint exhibition of Ling Lai and Norman de Brackinghe. In this exhibition, two artists will present their latest series of paintings in the style of lively, abstract expression and creating a variety of dialogues by the nature of light and colors.

Ling continues to explore the vibrancy of colors in her previous series “After the Rain”. The artist is obsessed with the unpredictability, personality and organic formation when colors blend into one another. By applying layers of translucent colors on top repeatedly, Ling intends to achieve a harmonious state and a tonal balance.

Norman usually captures images through photographs; inspired and fascinated by the nature of light, the artist has created the new series of paintings to express hisinterpretation to “Sea and Sky“ from dawn to dusk. Beyond his anticipation, there is a close relationship between acrylics and photography even though he has tried to avoid any particular influences from photography in his new domain of art creation.
