Waiting Heart

Description

Description

Till death do us part: a conquest of love, fate and free will

A modern interpretation of Tang Ti-sheng’s timeless Cantonese opera, Waiting Heart is the brainchild of the Hong Kong Dance Company and Utopia Chinese Opera Workshop in celebration of the 101st anniversary of the birth of the eminent playwright. This unique interpretation of the exquisite classic weaves in sci-fi elements of multiple time dimensions, re-telling the golden classic with greater profundity and artistic imagination. The parallel universes juxtapose arrays of possibilities – a happy ending of serendipitous union, an afterlife filled with indomitable angst, and a contest for love in defiance of fate. Of all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are “It might have been.”
