The Citizen Actors

The Citizen Actors use Playback Theatre to build a community that is sensitive to its members’ needs and respect everyone’s differences. We celebrate diversity through artistry under a contained structure that we called ritual to ensure non-violence social interaction, encouraging those who are present in the event to reflect, hoping to help us all grow a little. We incorporate Theatrical Interpretation and Audio Description to the form so that people who sense, perceive and communicate in different ways can still fully and equally enjoy our performances. We perform regularly, usually once every three to four months. We run the company with an open mind, so we also open ALL our rehearsals to playbackers who have been trained in the form but haven’t yet found their own company.
